Smoothie lovers, this is your season! I love smoothies year-round, but in summer I just about live on them—alongside the close cousin/variation, smoothie bowls. Coolly refreshing, they’re perfect for sipping slow or on-the-go, both of which styles are exceptionally suited to at once languid and hectic summertime.
One of the many beauties of smoothies is how intuitive and playful they are. Unleash your creativity and blend! But sometimes a recipe, or even just a name, comes in awfully handy as a guide. I tend to lock onto a certain smoothie flavor as my staple for days, months, maybe even years—but variety is so much fun. This summer, it’s all about changing things up, incorporating all the colors into the every day. It’s amazing what a lift in both energy and mood you can create with just a glass. Here are a few of our favorites lately.

These are just a guide; I typically toss in a couple of frozen cauliflower florets to most smoothies and/or a teaspoon of chia seeds whether I’ve written them down or not.
