Wholesome Vegan Treats for Halloween

We’re just days from October, and fall is feeling frightfully delightful, isn’t it? Festive ghost and ghoul decorations started popping up in our neighborhood area a few weeks ago. Earlier than typical, but not unwelcome!

It’s never too early to get in the spirit of things with fun and hauntingly delicious treats. But while Halloween is spooktacular, a monthlong and more spree of artificial colors, refined sugars, and additives is just scary. Luckily, Halloween is as much about creativity as anything else, and the kitchen is a great place to conjure up treats that are both wickedly tasty and wonderfully wholesome. Here are a few of our favorites.

Pumpkin Muffin-Cupcakes

Serve them up as muffins, or top them with frosting for cupcakes. These warmly-spiced vegan pumpkin cupcakes are treats with a tricky (e.g. secretly wholesome) twist!

Healthier Caramel Popcorn

Light quantities of maple syrup, tahini, and unsweetened plant milk combine for a healthier, oil-free caramel popcorn—the subtler sweetness is crunchtastic and kid-approved.

Monster Matcha and Moringa cookies

Matcha and Moringa powders mingle with a simple almond and gluten free flour blend for green-tinted, frightfully delightful shortbread-like treats.

Pumpkin pie shake

Sweet, spiced, and power-packed, this creamy shake is nourishing and dreamy, perfect for fall.

Beet Orange Mocktail

Bold, ravishing red color adds a sense of daring to the beet-iful deliciousness of this radiant mocktail!

Autumn Bark

Easy to make and tailor-to-taste, this autumn bark has it all: sweet, savory, crunchy, smooth, chewy, and utterly delightful.

These energizing, tasty bites are perfect trail fuel and leaf-peeping treats!
